Enterprise Optimizer®
Digital Planning Twin™ Platform
Our Digital Planning Twin™ allows for the creation of industry specific solutions all on the Microsoft Cloud platform due to the unique capabilities of Enterprise Optimizer®. Our marquee solution, Value Chain Optimization, drew heavy input from Accenture supply chain experts as well as customers such as Philip Morris, to address the need to go beyond just logistics when dealing with evaluating manufacturing and logistics design scenarios. The platform enabled us to develop the first solution in just months, and today, dozens of consulting firms have adopted Value Chain Optimization for their clients. Partners can also build their own solutions on our platform: one example is Business Modeling Applications, a leader in utility asset planning ,energy transition, sustainability and resiliency.
Our Digital Planning Twin™ has been used extensively across almost any business use cases for virtually every industry. Over 200 implementations in industries such as life science, discrete and process manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, healthcare, government, aerospace, finance, and energy. Our platform has proven itself in both operational and strategic planning use cases across diverse functions from supply chain, to production, pricing/promotions, personnel planning, job assignments, product portfolio and more. This is only possible due to Enterprise Optimizer’s® unique vision (see About Us) that drove our team to invent unique capabilities for planning enterprise scenarios.
Enterprise Optimizer®
Platform Uniqueness
Intelligent Code-Free Optimization
We created “The Matrix,” a planning platform for decision-makers that automatically generates complex equations for scenarios like network design and capacity planning. By visually representing a business and integrating existing data, it leverages our Business Knowledge Repository to produce numerous scenarios for informed decision-making.
We Began with AI – We ARE AI
River Logic originated in a university research lab, aiming to create digital twins of physical processes using expert systems. As the focus shifted to financial business problems, these digital twins evolved to automatically generate mathematical models. The initial use of AI led to the creation of Enterprise Optimizer®, but today’s advancements in LLMs and Generative AI significantly enhance usability and understanding for business users.
Business Knowledge
Enterprise Optimizer® utilizes business knowledge from real-world engagements with complex enterprises across various industries. Taking the form of an AI Expert System, these rules enable the modeler to generate a representation of a business without needing to learn how to model each function, business constraints – which can be physical, business policy, regulatory, etc., cost accounting, financial statement roll-ups, sustainability, etc. The rules are also an excellent guide for GenAI agents as they facilitate its learning and ensure adherence to reality.
Mathematical Translation
The Digital Planning Twin’s AI Expert System also has a dynamic math generator. Based on the diagram, the business knowledge and the customer’s data, it automatically generates the necessary mathematical optimization formulation for almost any business scenario and objectives, including profit, cash flow, and sustainability. This unique capability allows us to manage the millions of equations needed in typical scenario. Furthermore, the system also translates results back from a mathematical optimization output into business knowledge and KPIs, running automatic sensitivities to highlight key areas of risk or opportunity models.
Financial and Operational Data in the Same Model
Many enterprises create scenarios in silos, especially in operations and finance. Enterprise Optimizer® uses cost accounting, micro-economics and financial knowledge to produce average and marginal product/customer profitability analyses while also delivering audit-quality financials from operational data, avoiding ineffective planning methods like allocations and standard costing. This eliminates Black Box analytics and validates models against actual financials, a capability unmatched by mega-vendors.
Modeling Performance and Flexibility
Enterprise Optimizer® is designed for performance and flexibility. The automated math generation and modeler features regularly allows us to scale models to significantly larger situations. Furthermore, the flexibility driven by the no-code modeling approach means companies can focus on representing their unique situation. For those wanting to develop solutions, there is even a possibility for multiple models to interact, ensuring a standard solution model can be appended as needed.
